bouchers farm

Completed in July 2018, this project began with the demolition of a sprawling 1950s house in a quaint village in Gloucestershire. The property was lacking in character with multiple extensions in previous years creating a house which was a maze of rooms, with a bulky garage blocking the panoramic views across the surrounding valley.

The client’s desire for a ‘wow-factor’ home has been recognised with a thermally efficient building sympathetic to the style which preceded it. Timber clad and rendered externally, the clean finishes continue internally with a feature staircase the point of focus on entering the home. Joiner-made on site, the stair sits in front of double-height glazing, with the fins allowing filtered light through to the kitchen and dining space. The house is generous in size, providing 4 bedrooms and studies, snug and music spaces.
