St Francis

A family home located in Amberley overlooking Woodchester Valley, the existing 18th century Cotswold stone cottage was renovated and extended to link to what was an old garage outbuilding. The property has been in the family for a few generations and this project provided the opportunity to sympathetically future proof it with a view to adaptation to the demands of modern living. The large open rooms with extensive glazed areas now flood the interior of the house with natural light and open the living spaces towards beautiful views of the natural landscape.  Sustainability was at the core of the project - natural building materials were used throughout with the principal structural material being timber. Wood fibre insulation and natural renders and paints were used throughout the scheme.
