Modern Country House Design (Paragraph 84)

We specialise in designing and achieving permission for Paragraph 84 (Para 84, formerly Para 80 or 79 and before this, Para 55) houses. These are new houses in the countryside that are of exceptional and outstanding or innovative architectural and landscape design quality.

These are not easy to obtain; paragraph 84 of the National Planning Policy Framework allows for these isolated homes with stringent criteria on design and innovation, as well as asking that the home significantly enhances its immediate setting. We like to see these as a modern take on the traditional country house.

As planning consent requires a higher than usual level of detailed design and research and development, we pull together a consultant team of ecologists, energy specialists, planning experts and structural engineers to complement our in-house expertise in architecture, landscape, arboriculture and biodiversity.
